About Me

Hi! My name is Corinne and I’m 30 years old, living and working in Chicago. I graduated from DePaul University in 2009 with a degree in Psychology and I’ve spent the last six years of my life working in Clinical Research – I manage clinical trials at a pharmaceutical company. My weekdays consist of teleconferences, emails, and spreadsheets, and while I enjoy healthcare and value research deeply, my days are a bit void of creativity. As I’ve always been one to experiment with the more expressive side of my personality, I’ve decided it’s time to add something to the mix that will bring me closer to harmony.

I come with plenty of passions and interests but I have huge soft spot for style.

I don’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t completely taken with the fairytale of clothing. Whether in old pictures, movies, or hanging in my own closet, clothing has provided me an outlet to dream.

My relationship with style has always been straight forward and niche — if it’s feminine, simple, sleek, and takes me to another time and place, it’s for me. The only problem is, we live in a world of fast fashion and production to suit the masses. It’s become draining, mentally and finanically, to find and fill my closet with quality pieces that suit my style. So, instead of devoting my time and resources to an unhealthy version of consumerism, I’ve challenged myself to make beautiful pieces by hand that I’ll enjoy for years. I’m much more willing to wait for fashion if I’m the one crafting it. And while I’ve only recently embarked on the art of dressmaking, I’m super excited about it! My purpose here is to share, inspire and learn this craft.

Learning to turn a sheet of fabric into a garment has some sort of magical quality. Turning it into an extremely feminine garment is FUN!
